Unless You All Want to Chip in and Buy Us Another Fridge

I never thought I would ever have to say this, but we have too much food! There are many bodies in the house, and still we're swimming in leftovers as it is. Would it be rude to request that people save their cooking energy until we request more? Mom eats VERY little, and we can only pack in so much, especially in the sweets department (which we have to hide in crafty little nooks to keep my grandfather from finding them).

I had these grand plans for delicious dinners all weekend, instead we will feast on all the delicious treats we've been so fortunate to receive. In the meantime, feed yourselves and your families, and when we're needing reinforcements, we'll be sure to call in the troops!

Mom is quiet today, needing rest and quiet, but she did have an entire pear this morning, a few bites of scrambled eggs, and some toast. Calories are going in, slowly but surely.

Merry Christmas Big Sistasan!

I hope you are feeling OK today. I know you were concerned about weight -- which one of us girls isn't -- but this is really not the way to go about dieting, dammit!

Gwennie told me you were back in the hospital again Christmas Eve morning for some IV fluids and nutrients. We had a huge pasta bar dinner for 18 and had plenty of fluids and nutrients to spare. Eric and I toasted you because you were sorely missed in the kitchen during prep and serve. You would have had your choice of so many delicious things to eat, and wonderful libations to wash it down with. We wouldn't want you to get dehydrated :)

I would have brought some of it down, but I didn't have enough room in my own refrigerator. We had to break out our car-camping fridge. [Hey, why does my spell-checker say to take out the "d" in refrigerator, but not in fridge?]

I was considering bringing Scott, Mike and John to visit Papa on Friday this week, because he'll only commit to stay through Jan 4th [the bum] but thought better of it. They will have to visit him some other time and place I guess. Meanwhile, I will contact Didi and Merle to see when it would be a good time for me to come back down. I'd love to spend more time with you, and spell them for a while, but you have to promise to stop taking side trips over Avon mountain back to St. Francis Hosp. Let's just plan to hang out at your comfortable house and convalesce in a germ-free zone. I can be like Marilyn and be very quiet and do New Age moments (aka naps) too. At least I don't snore, so you can sleep as well! I'll paint your toenails if you wish.

I love you so much,
Your little sis, Claude

Oh Coco! That sounds lovely! I'm back in Boston to celebrate with Tommy's family, but will be back in CT after the New Year (providing all is well) to do chemo and such. Let's pow-wow on the phone this week.

Hmm...pasta bar...
