Happy Birthday, Mamasan!

She's en route to Boston as I type for a girls day, having almost completely recovered from all the side-effects radiation produced. They resolved almost as quickly as they showed up, which you may remember was instantaneous. Her energy is back, she busy and motivated at work, and couldn't be in better spirits!

Done and DONE!

Mom completed her 25 treatments of radiation earlier this week, and got a diploma to prove it.
She got hugs from everyone before she left, including the valet attendants and one elderly woman whom she bonded with over their time in the waiting room together.
Fatigue and discomfort continue to be the name of the game, and will be for the next week or so, but just knowing that she doesn't have to go in for treatments each day has had a massive impact on her.
So congratulations, Mom! You did it!

7 Days To Go

It feels like it is going by quickly for all of us, but I'm sure my mother begs to differ. The side effects continue to accumulate and her fatigue is sucking up any motivation to do much else than the bare minimum her day requires. Even though her treatments end a week from today, she'll probably not start feeling better until at least a week or so later.

Many thanks to her Helping Hands network, both official and unofficial members, who've stepped up to the plate with food deliveries and rides to radiation. I know it brings Mom a great deal of comfort to know that with these small gestures she doesn't have to use any of her energy thinking, "what's for dinner?"
