Radiation: "A Non Event"

Those were Mom's exact words after yesterday. Today is day 2, and from here on out she will have her radiation every day at 4:30pm, meet with Dr. van Rooy on Tuesdays so he can follow her progress, and in 5 weeks, this will be history.

As you so eloquently put it, "radiate that shizzy."

Liz was given the choice to switch her daily radiation appointments to 2:30. She jumped at the chance, thus avoiding rush hour, and that 'closing time' feeling at the clinic. More importantly, it's not right in the middle of her naturally most tired part of the day. 2:30 appts. start tomorrow (Fri.).

She is already feeling surprisingly tired even after only two treatments. Docs had said she experience fatigue, but said it might not start for two weeks. She hasn't hit true fatigue yet. The clinicians said it's normal that she's already feeling very tired, because the hip/pelvic area is being targeted. There is lots of bone and red blood cells affected. Her body has a lot of repair work to accomplish.

Hi Liz, I heard about the blog from my daughter Kate lange redmond. I work part-time at St. Francis, and on my off days would be able to provide transportation as needed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Liz Lange
